Location of KFPL

Kolombangara is an island located in the Western Province of the Solomon Islands. Kolombangara is the cone of an extinct volcano and contains some of the most fertile soils in the Solomon Islands.

KFPL’s plantations occupy the lower slopes of the volcanic cone and extend three-quarters of the way round the island – from the extreme south to the north west.

Ringgi Cove is the headquarters of KFPL’s operation on Kolombangara. It comprises an office complex, wharf, airstrip, forest nursery and tree breeding facilities as well as housing for 250 staff and family. Ringgi Cove also has a primary and secondary school, medical clinic, stores, playing fields and club. Ringgi Cove is situated in the south of the island.

Poitete is KFPL’s main production camp.  Situated in the north east of Kolombangara it is the centre of production and contains KFPL’s main workshop and sawmill.  It also has a school, clinic and housing for over 200 staff and families.  

Pulisingau is KFPL's main export facility and comprises a 60m wharf with 10m deep water loading. 

Pulisingau is 3km south of Poitete and is located at:

Latitude   7o 54’ South

Pulisingau will shortly be upgraded to take container ships.
