- Brown Terminalia is a native of
Kolombangara and is a species that normally prefers swampy sites. Brown
Terminalia has proved very successful on a range of sites on Kolombangara.
- One of 3 local species that
formed the basis of the early plantation programme in the Solomon Islands.
- Floater when fresh cut.
- Timber is light (450-480kg per
m3) when air dried.
- Excellent peeler and used
extensively for core veneers in plywood manufacture.
